Dawn of Hope
2025
These 2 drawings were created for the exhibition ‘Dawn of Hope’, organised by NHG Health in conjunction with breast cancer awareness month in October, held at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore. I wanted to showcase how our local wildlife could spark hope and represent the journey of personal growth in each individual. The original miniature drawings, art prints and postcards were available for purchase to raise funds for breast cancer support.

Pied imperial pigeon

Pigeons and doves are a universal symbol of hope and peace. The Pied imperial pigeon is one of the species of pigeons that live in Singapore. Primarily white in plumage, its black tail and partially black wings create a beautiful contrast.
Lime butterfly
Colour pencil on paper
13 x 13 cm
Butterflies are a symbol of new beginnings. The metamorphosis from caterpillar to butterfly is an amazing transformation process of personal growth, and a reminder that after hardship and a tedious journey there is always something beautiful to look forward to. The yellow Lime butterfly, a common butterfly found in gardens and parks of Singapore, represents optimism and positive energy too.
